PLEASE ANSWER ANYTHING. MANATEE QUESTION, SOMEONE ANSWER ANYTHING AT ALL.?

I asked a question almost an hour ago, almost a yes/no question about manatees. I was just trying to bring more attention to the manatee dispute. Please answer.

"Are manatees able to climb out of the water similar to seals and walruses? I know there are several types of manatees or sea cows, such as dougongs and the manatee native to the Amazon river. Has anyone ever seen anything about any of these creatures merging from the water to "bask" perhaps, even climb on rocks or onto the beach?"

  1. wow over obsessive much

(p.s why are you so obsessed about manatees?)

  2. No, they cannot.

  3. Very Interesting question

  4. Not seen or heard of. The ones native to Florida don't behave in such a way and they are more similar to cows and elephants than they are to seals and walruses.

  5. No, manatee's come from the same family whales are in.  While whales are constantly being beached on land, they usually die from lack of water.  The same would happen to a manatee =(  I'm sorry.

  6. No, manatees can't climb out of water. They are not close relatives of neither whales nor seals. Their closest living relative  is the elephant, believe it or not. They are herbivores and will have their babies in the water. Unlike whales, these creatures take more care of their young, and are even able to use their flippers  to hold them while the parent floats on their back. Sadly, these very  intelligent and friendly animals are  on the endangered list. Every single one of them. The  first one of the  animals to become extinct was the Steller's sea cow.  No effort was made to save these animals. The Steller's sea cow was extinct in 1768. Less  than thirty years after it was discovered. What  a shame. This is what people are still doing to this planet today. Even if there are conservations for endangered animals, people still hunt them for food and other things. It seems these animals also  have a similar parenting personality to elephants as well.
