You like touchscreens, huh? Then I recommend the HP Photosmart R937. It's got a HUGE touchscreen, takes pictures and videos, has 8 megapixel resolution (for some pretty nice pictures) and it only costs about $250. It is a little bulky, but I still like it. Here's some pictures of it:

I recently bought a Nikon D60 digital SLR, for  around $700.00, and I love it.  Much better than a point and shoot.   There are lots of choices out there, with different lenses, etc, so look at camera magazine web sites, like shutterbug.com, or go to bhphotovideo.com to see what's on the market.
