  1. Pre-calculus provides a whole bunch of useful information, and you do need a lot of it to do calculus. The good thing is that you can learn some calc AB concepts without knowing pre-calculus, although when they take hard concepts(like limits and derivatives) to more advanced levels, that's when you're going to need the pre-calculus.

Calculus can get tough, especially without pre-calculus experience, so if you're thinking about diving head first into it, well, I wouldn't reccomend it. You're going to have to learn the pre-calc concepts sooner or later, so I would do it sooner.

Buy a pre-calc reveiw book and look over it,and make sure you have all the concepts down really well, then start to try and comprehend calculus.

    Good luck!
