Question:

AP Chem and AP Physics Same Year?

I'm going to be a Junior this September, and I will be taking AP Bio as a requirement. I really want to take both classes in Senior Year but my friends told me to choose one, but it's too hard for me to choose. If I take both, I'd be taking 5 AP's in senior year (chem, phys, calc BC, literature, micro). Should I take both or one of the two? I did well in both Chem and Physics so it's hard for me to choose.

  1. Take both.  It will likely be similar to your college courseload where you may be taking bio and chem or whatever our study path is at the same time.  (I did that with my computer science degree.).

Plus, if you did well in both of them, you shouldn't really run into many obstacles.  The material is different enough that you won't get too confused.

I also know people who took AP Bio and AP Chem at the same time; that, too, isn't too challenging if that's an option for you so that you can mitigate your courseload by taking 2 APs (?) during junior year and 4 during senior year.

    Good luck!

  2. I took AP Human Geography sophomore year and I got an A in the class and a 3 on the test. It wasn't that hectic for me. Last year, my junior year, here was my schedule and grades and AP scores:

AP Calculus AB (B and a 5 on the test)

    Computers/Drawing I (A)

    American History Honors Gifted (B)

AP Psychology (A and a 5 on the test)

AP English Language (B and a 3 on the test)

AP Chemistry (A and a 5 on the test)

In addition to the classes, I was on an all-star cheerleading squad, as well as my school's Varsity cheerleading squad. I would stay after school until 4 and then I had practice everyday from 4:30 to 9. It was hard, but I think I pulled through pretty well this year. It was also very gratifying knowing that I proved everyone who doubted me along road. I was also involved in clubs.

Next year my schedule will look a little something like this:

    AP English Literature

    AP Physics C

    AP Biology

    AP Calculus BC

    Teacher Aide

    AP U.S. Government & Politics/AP Macroeconomics

I think you should take both AP Chem and AP Physics. It will definitely benefit you in the long run. It may seem like h**l during the process, but once it's over, you'll look back on it and be thankful you made that decision. If you put your mind to it, you can do anything.

Hope this helps and good luck :)

  3. What is your carrer objective?  If it is to go to law school or medical school, I would definitly take the AP classes together, as medical school and law school are so demanding.

it will also impress your counselors in college admissions.
