I want to be an Electrical Engineer, hopefully, and want to know which one will help me be more prepared for my freshmen year at college. Physics is non-calculus based, and no matter what I will be taking these classes again in college. Thank you for all of your help and input.

  1. take Physics.

  2. I took AP Chem Junior year and AP Physics C (mech and E&M) Senior year without taking Physics B first. I enjoyed AP Chem the most. AP Physics Mech was pretty easy too. However, E&M was probably the most difficult AP exam I took (and I have taken a total of 10). If I were you, I would take AP Chem and see if your school offers an Honors Physics class. This way, you would still get physics but could also take chem.

  3. i took both AP chem and AP phy B.

if you want to be an electrical engineer, you should take physics. even though it's not calculus based, it helps you to get the basic concepts and prep you for the harder physics classes. even if you have to take physics again in college, it's still good to have some experiences. what about physics c? that's calculus based, maybe take that class?

personally, i liked AP chem better. i thought the class was more interesting and easier. also, you get to do cool labs in chemistry, but in physics, the most interesting lab we have ever done was to roll a ball off the table. well, that's my school. it's probably different at yours.
