  1. I took sophomore chem and ap chem. They weren't that bad but you have to work hard each and every day to excel in the class. My teacher was extremely dedicated. I didn't do so well on the AP test. I thought it was hard. It's easy to do pretty well in the class, but with the AP test you have to know mostly everything, which is what makes the test hard in my opinion.

  2. Just keep up on the reading and study what you learned that day each night after class. As long as you keep up like that you won't feel unprepared for the exams. Good luck!

  3. If you couldn't get into Honors Chem before, then AP is going to be extremely hard.  Just being honest.

  4. got a 5

easy class second semester but hard first semester

u have to fight point for point in that class

  5. The class is about as much fun as you can reasonably expect any high school class to be. I took honors Chem and AP the next year. My answer may be a bit prejudiced, because i love Chemistry, and i breezed through both of those classes, but if you had an A or a high B, i would advise taking the class, and the test. Though the classes were pretty easy for me, not necessarily the same for everyone, the test was still tricky. If you are looking for study materials, if you decide to take the class and or test, stay away from spark notes flash cards. the charts are great, but several of the cards are outright wrong.

  6. I just took it last year. I excelled in Chemistry Honors, but I had a lot more difficulty with AP Chem. It also really depends on how dedicated the teacher is (my teacher wouldn't really teach just give us assignments) The test wasn't that bad, as long as you've had a full year of basically preparing for the test. There weren't any real big surprises.

  7. I hope not too difficult, because i'm taking it next semester. :o

If you were good with Chemistry and work really hard, it'll pay off and you'll do well. What I've learned about AP classes is to always ask questions, and ALWAYS do AP assignments before anything else.

  8. Hi, I took honors chem last year and then ap chem this year. I found ap chem covered a lot of the same material as first-year chem, but more in-depth. (in my school at least) There are a few topics I never covered before AP chem, but as long as you study and do all the work you should be fine. Stay after school with your teacher if you don't understand something. That will help.

My last piece of advice is to buy an AP chemistry review book at the beginning of the year. Make sure it's the newest version because I bought an older one and the test had changed its format since then. Throughout the year you can look at the book as you study topics, do practice problems and free response.

The AP test wasn't too bad, multiple choice & free response. Just learn to manage your time though. Good luck!

  9. i took AP chem. i loved the class. the class was challenging, but it was a fun class. we did some interesting labs and demos. if you took a year of chemistry before AP, you should be ok.

the AP test was ok. probably because my AP chem teacher made his chapter tests super hard and made the AP test looked easy. but i think if you actually study for the AP test, you should do well on it. you can look at the FRQs on College Board, and they basically ask the same type of questions every year. also, get an AP review book to study for the AP test. i liked Princeton Review a lot.

  10. Its doable. I got a 3 on it and completely screwed up on the test. I should have gotten a 4 or a 5. It all depends on the teacher. My teacher was good but a lot of kids dropped out at semester. If you stick with it and understand the material, you will be fine. Its an easy test since you pretty much know what will be on the test. So if you the information it should be pretty easy.
