A college says : Mathematics requires a score of 5

and awards either one (AB exam) or two (BC

exam) semesters of credit.

What does a semester of credit mean? Does it mean like a fall or spring semester? Based in this college, if I got a 5 in BC calculus, would I be able to get the credit for Calc. 1 and 2 and move on to Calc. 3? Thanks.

  1. Classes are only a semester long in college most colleges so you get the units for that class.  You would probably have 8 units before you start.  You get to start on the third calculus there is no official name for the class all schools name it differently.  If you are going to a community college for the third class before you get out of high school you will also need a copy of your transcript so they could be sure you have the skills to be in it.

  2. Yes, it means you would get credit for Calculus 1 and 2 and can move on to Calc 3.
