AP European History?

Question

Hi all,

I will be taking AP Euro next year in school and I want to hear from others: what is it like? How difficult is it?

I want to hear from those who've taken this specific AP, not just AP classes in general or even other AP history classes. I adore history and really want to take it, but I will have two other honors classes (English and French) and Trig.

If you like history, then you'll have absolutely no problem. I took AP Euro my sophomore year and loved it. Its a combination of political turmoil, economic disasters and incredible artistry. Really great stuff! :D I took two other AP history courses my junior year and AP Euro remains my favorite. I had an excellent teacher which undoubtedly added to what I got out of the class, but the material itself is really interesting. Yes, there were parts I didn't like, and I can't say I enjoyed spending hours reading chapters, but in the end I'm thrilled that I took the class. In fact, I'm considering making it my concentration in college. If you like history, art, "old world" stuff, then you'll have absolutely no trouble. Just read the textbook and you should be fine. I did have friends, however, that never read a single chapter and still passed the exam with a 3? You really do need to study a lot to get a 5, but for people who didn't care at all, they were pretty happy.

Well I just took AP Euro this year and I loved the class.  My teacher was incredible and he got me really into the class and I enjoyed it very much.  At times, it might get tough but it's worth it.  My final grade for the class is an A.  Although I did well I'm still not sure of how I did on the AP exam.  I just hoped I passed.  I think I did well and I felt pretty prepared.

If you like history, learning quotes, culture, politics, and art, then you are going to love this class!  Europe and it's complex history is amazing!
