Question:

AP Studio art portfolio help?

I'm almost done with both breadth and concentration (4 works to go! Which is more advanced than the rest of my class). Anyways, for the quality section, are the works we must submit ... not be part of the breadth or concentration? I always assumed we would just send in pieces from those two categories.

Please help.

Thanks!

  1. The quality section (Section I) permits the student to select the works that best exhibit a synthesis of form, technique, and content.

As far as the AP Studio Art Scoring Guidelines it doesn't specify if the actual artwork submitted in Section I not be be included in Section II or Section III.

Here is the The AP Studio Art portfolios requirement website ->

Here is how they score the portfolio ->

Personnally, I would not include artwork used in Section I of your portfolio in the breadth or concentration section too.  I would want to include as much as my artowrk I can and spread them out in all the sections.   I would choose the best artwork for Section I.
