Question:

AP and Big Ben for Peyton Manning and Frank Gore??

I was offered a trade for Ap and Big Ben. I picked Ap 5th overall in a league that rewards 6 pts per passing TD. I got Clinton Portis in the 2nd round and Big Ben in the 4th round. My buddy picked Peyton Manning 1st round and Frank Gore 2nd round. So basically I would be trading my 1st and 4th pick for his 1st and 2nd pick. Good deal for me?? I had Frank Gore last year and he started out well and then was just terrible mid season, and was okay end of the year, and he bawled out final 2 games when my season was already over. So Frank Gore really screwed me last year. Big Ben has the 2nd hardest schedule in the league, which he could either do really well or really bad. I figure if he plays hard teams, he will be forced to pass more to play catch up which would result in good fantasy numbers. Peyton Manning I had a couple years back and he was awesome. But his knee injury is kind of scary, but nothing to worry me too much. I am really a huge AP fan and drafted him 1st round for a reason. But i think this deal gives me more depth and a solid QB in which Big Ben might not be. What do you think I should do?

If i do the trade my team will be

Peyton Manning

Frank Gore

Clinton Portis

Earnest Graham

Marques Colston

Greg Jennings

Heath Miller

If i keep im still looking good with

Ben Roethlisberger

Ap

Portis

Graham

Colston

Jennings

Miller

I mean Big Ben last year was not to far behind Manning in numbers and Ap much more impressive then Gore last year. But this year is this year. what do you think? Thanks a bunch!

  1. If you get points per reception (PPR League) DO NOT make this trade!

Gore is a BEAST in PPR leagues, and Peterson is not going to catch a lot of passes (even though he will put up huge #s).

Ben has a new Offensive Coordinator and everything I have seen in the pre-season says the Steelers will pass more this year. Besides, Ben actually had better #'s than Manning last year and Manning is a little banged up.

I say sit tight.  If this is a PPR league, they guy knows what he is doing offering you that trade.  It looks tempting but sit tight.

  2. Go for it. The difference between Manning and Ben is huge, and Gore is solid. AP is a stud bug fragile...

  3. I say keep your team. Big Ben is gonna do great this year, and its better safe than sorry(injury to Peyton is what i mean)
