First off, thanks for taking the time to read this!
I'm taking AP art this year and have some ideas for my concentration, but I don't know if they are strong enough (a concentration is a unified body of works, that convey an underlying visual idea or conceptual theme). Some of my ideas are...
- Capture the beauty within the overlooked, to show that even the most insignificant artifacts have relevance. (e.g. paint a toilet, yet with my own interpretation, make it beautiful)
- Investigate the anatomy of the human form, whilst attempting to conceptually define the human condition.
- Depict the symbiotic relationship between two contradictory acts (e.g. creation & destruction, yin & yang)
- Taking objects associated with childhood, and relate them to a bigger meaning or show a parallel to a significant state of affairs we face as a society, implying our society is so sheltered, we view violence and the destruction of the environment as mere childsplay. (e.g. paint frozen ice pops melting under a child's chalk drawing of the earth upon a sidewalk. Would reference how the polar ice caps are melting due to global warming, and how America has adopted a child-like naivety to this issue).
- ?????
Which idea should I pursue? Any suggestions on more ideas? Thanks!
