All organic matter is made up of entirely or mostly the basic elements carbon and hydrogen. What properties of these two elements allow for the incredible diversity of organic compounds? Explain.

carbon has 4 valence electrons which means that it can form infinate banched chains with limitless combinations. Hydrogen is very reactive and can form hydrogen bonds. water is esentially hydrogen and oxygen and it covers 75% of the earths surface so no wonder that all species have water (and hereby hydrogen) in them
