  1. I took AP Chem and regular physics in my junior year, and I did fine.  I didn't think AP Chem was that hard, so I wouldn't worry about it.  But if you had taken AP chem and AP Physics simultaneously, you would probably suffer.  I'm going to be taking AP Physics next year for my senior year, so I can't really compare chem to physics, but I wouldn't be too worried.

  2. As radio pointed out, AP Physics B was the harder exam. I took AP Chem as a sophomore and received a 5, and i remember thinking that Chemistry was not that hard, a lot required simple memorization (although, there were a TON of equations and facts you had to know!) and doing algebra with the info given.

AP Physics B though, covered a wide amount of knowledge, requiring you to know exactly how things work - memorization is only 1/5 of the course. You have to really understand in order to apply concepts/equations to different situations. You have to use your head :) I received a 5 for AP Physics as well, but i studied my butt off for this, and didn't feel very confident at all - even when i saw my 5

that being said, you should consider the fact that even though i didn't take both in the same year, when i took AP Physics B, i was taking 4 other AP's. So yea, if you think you're up to it, i say go for it :)

  3. AP Physics B is by far the harder course. I took both courses and I felt that AP Physics required a solid knowledge of how things worked and in order to understand a concept you might have to do anywhere between 60 and 100 practice problems. Whereas in chemistry, it's plugging numbers into an equation and solving for a variable. AP Chemistry is by far the easier course out of the two.
