  1. Whenever presented with apparent contradictions like this one, check the sources and timing.

The Associated Press report was apparently filed earlier.    Iran's government spokesman Gholam Hossein Elham said on Saturday that the country will reject any nuclear deal offered by major world powers that demands a ...

But the British Broadcasting Corp. reported later --  Tehran, June 15, IRNA - Majlis speaker Ali Larijani said on Sunday that the Iranian parliament will study the Group 5+1 package of incentives precisely.

These reports were hours apart and were attributed to two different Iranian officials.  Gholam Hossein Elham works for the government and Ali Larijani is an elected politician so this could also be an indication of a disjointed approach to the incentive package.

None of this has anything to do with the credibility of the news organizations, but more to do with consumers of news and the time differences between print and broadcast news organizations.

There may be some differences in which source weighs in with more credibility, the government spokesman or the politician.

In U.S. terms, this would be like reporting the opinion of a White House spokesman and the opinion of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

I don't think this is a matter of not trusting all news networks but rather being a careful consumer and user of news.

    Hope this answer helps you.

  2. well i would choose BBC

  3. I place more weight on the BBC, but in fact the more news sources you listen to or read the more informed you can be to reach your own decision.

  4. BBC has higher standards for truth. But you can't trust establishment media that relies on corporate and governmental press releases and never does any investigative journalism. I suggest tuning in free speech radio & DemocracyNow.org. Mainstream Free Press has been bought by mainstream media to push corporate goals for short term profit goals and they give a hoot about their role(Formerly duty) as the fourth estate to the US Constitution esp the bill of rights! FCC is a joke the way they have allowed over concentration for ideological reasons. Watch the programs produced by Bill Moyers and David Broncaccio at PBS while we still can.

Too much news is really packaged propaganda put out by special interests who want something and hope we will bite into their views! We should all be better news discriminators by looking at sources and aims of the parties incl the press!

Example, al Qaeda has it's own press corp! LOL
