AP score help!? If the scores are out of 5, what do the D, C, or other letters beside the number score mean?

It all depends on if your teacher switches your grade after you take the test.

"Some schools have policies that allow the AP Exam grade to override a grade earned in the course. A typical scale is as follows:

5: A

4: B

3: C

2: D

1: F

Individual teachers may have their own policy in this respect.
