AP test ?????

I got a 2 on my AP English lit. comp. test, does that mean I don't have to take ESL or any basic class of English in College ? And Do I need to take the English placement test when I get to college ?

  1. usually colleges will at minimum only accept a score of 3 or higher...

  3. A 2 is not a high enough score to place out of English.  They should give you a placement test to see if you should pass out.

  4. Chances are your AP grade won't get you any credit or exemptions. Some schools do offer credit for good grades on the AP English Literature exam, but a score of 2 generally doesn't cut it.

    I presume English is not your native language? I would imagine that you would have to take ESL courses in addition to the standard freshman writing courses that almost all undergraduate first years do, unless you can submit a good TOEFL score. Check your desired college's website for details on their ESL and freshman writing course policies.
