If you were tested once by a school Guidance Councilor should you be tested in a few years time is the one testing/check all there is to it. I was tested in grade 5 and now I am in high school and it seems the symptoms are more survive then when I was in grade 5 when I was first tested and they all seem to think I am faking it. What should do and should there be a second check for symptoms and what do I need to do to get a second evaluation?

  1. You should be tested every three years if you had a test that showed you had some issues that affect your learning.  As your parents or guardian's to request that you be tested.  If you currently have an IEP, then by law you have to be retested or reevaluated at least every three years and you should be having IEP meetings at least once a year to see that your needs are being met.  If you do not have an IEP, your parents or guardians need to request those tests.

You can also go to your school counselor and ask for help with the issues that are affecting you, or maybe ask a teacher if you have one you can talk with.

Regardless of what your issues are, you can find ways (with support) to succeed, to learn, to grow and enjoy learning.

    best of luck.
