I am in the process of building a AR-15,I have a complete lower and now I need a complete upper,I think I am going to get it from Model One Sales from what my friends tell me they are good,I was wondering if anyone had any problems with them.Or another place to buy uppers that are fairly cheap.

  1. never dealt with Model1Sales, per se.

What make(s) are the parts in the upper? If they are quality parts and comparable to other vendors you are shopping price..go with the low bidder in that case.

The other question is what do you prefer? !:7 or 1:9, Chrome lined barrel, sights or rails...handguards? So many options...

Putting an AR together is like apples and apples or apples and oranges...you can load the cart anyway you want it.

  2. i got my rifle kit from Del-ton, and it is of very good quality. i have no experience with Model One Sales.

  3. I build match AR's.

Only military, police, and highpower rifle shooters will put an AR upper though the kind of use and abuse that makes a difference between one brand and another.  The best AR upper and lower components are machined - not cast.  If you are a just a regular plinker and do not plan to build the rifle into a sophisticated match firearm - the Model 1 upper is fine.

Most shooters have a 'plinker' upper and a nicer, long distance upper.

    Hope this helps.

  4. My neighbor has bought 2 of them and they both shoot well. He hasn't had any problems at all.
