  1. No.  Helping grandchildren would be a choice, not an obligation.

  2. Unless they are the legal guardians of their grandchildren, they are not legally obligated to help their grandchildren in any way.

However, many would say that grandparents and grandchildren (and other family members) share a mutual obligation to help each other, even if the law does not force them to.

  3. Define what you mean by Obilgated? I'm not sure what type of question that your wanting to ask so just say what you gotta say and we will be able to help possibly eaiser?

  4. No.  Some parents are unable to do their duty, and grandparents step in to help.  If grandchildren are just lazy leeches, then grandparents have a right not to be bothered.

  5. Legally no... morally yes.

  6. No we do it because we want to and what we can afford to do.

Although I did take care of my grandson when his parents went to prison.

  7. No.

  8. Of course not.

  9. No, if you'll do research grandparents have little to no rights to grandchildren (in most states).

  10. No. This is a personal decision. I have seen Grandparents who are used as a deep well when it comes to getting grandkids what the parents don't want to buy. I help my grandkids because they have been raised with respect for me and never ":demand' anything.

  11. Unless cited as legal guardians of their grandchildren there is no legal obligation to help. Ethically and morally they should help out if they can. Although there maybe a very good reason for them declining to help. There are occasions when it is for the persons own good for them to fend for themselves.
