  3. There's a lot about the sea that people don't know.  It's too large and too deep to know everything that goes on in it.

    Yes, I believe there could be mermaids, but I don't really believe that they are half human.  I also believe in loche ness.  

    Maybe my imagination is too broad...but at least I have one.

  11. No, mermaids are not real. The mermaid stories started many years ago. The mermaid came about because of the animal called a Dugong it's the cousin to the manatee. The Dugong is extremely rare and has been placed on the protected species list around the world. These animals come from Egypt and they live in the Red Sea. Another nickname for these animals is the sea cow. When the Dugong nurses it's baby it turns on it's back holding her baby as she nurses. When the Dugong does this she looks like a woman holding her baby. So that's where the mermaid legends came about and that's why ships especially years ago have mermaids on their bows.

    In some countries people believe that mermaids are mean. These mermaids are suppose to live in a huge lake and can curse people that go to the lake. A lot of times the people are driven out of town never to return again. They are considered to be bad luck. And cause illness or even death.
