I got a 1930 on my sats.

720-math

630- critical reading

580 in writing

I did practice tests for three weeks leading up to the test. I have taken a test prep course in the past...

I want to score around a 2070, or above........want to get into the dean scholars program at the university of texas....is a 2070 good enough if I plan on majoring in biology?

***no tutorfax

  1. practice tests can really help. but you might want to take a course for writing. and read read read. for biology... how well did you do on the SAT II Biology E/M subject test? that zooms in on how well you're doing in biology. biology, however, is a mixture of math and english combined (esp. english b/c of the use of writing), so  good reading+writing scores are still critical.

  2. that is really good. The only way to bring it up is to do more practice tests and studying.

  3. 1930 is in the 90th percentile, so yes those scores are 'good'.

What are your scores on the ACT?  Most students do better on one test or the other and you can use either to get into school and most likely either to help you qualify for the dean scholars program.

Take a practice test and if you score a 30 you made your goal (corresponds to a 2100 SAT).  If you score a 27 (1910) or below you should keep trying to work on your SAT score.

Hold your test prep company to a 200ish point gain.  You should have taken a practice test with them early on and if you didnt improve by 200 points you should have a talk with them about additional tutoring for free.  This is especially effective if you offer recomendations to your friends.

  4. umm yeah im jealous bc i did about 600 less than you so im not even gonna answer this question

  5. Those were pretty good but I always thought there were only two categories, verbal and math. Has that changed?
