  1. Nope; at least, not the kind you should worry about.  The water (although pretty cold for humans) is too warm for the big ones, and the small ones don't come in that close to shore.

I'd be more wary of stingrays (although they are still very rare).  When you walk into the water, make sure you shuffle forward, not walk like you normally would.  If you kick a stingray on the side, they will swim away.  If you step down directly on them, that tail whips up and over...

  2. There are sharks but usually they are closer to Catalina Island than Santa Monica.  I think a few have been seen in Malibu but no one ever has been bitten in Satna Monica Bay (that I know of).

Hopefully you'll see some playful dolphins!  Where there are dolphins, there are NO sharks!  wooo hoooo!

  3. not on the beach but in the water and DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  tHERE ARE!!

  4. the water is way to shallow for them, plus if they go near the pier they can die for the F grade water

  5. yes i've seen them around but don't worry you have a better chance of dying in your car driving to the beach or getting shot at by a thug than getting attacked by a shark.

  6. on the beach, no.

    they're in the water.

  7. if the water is salt

    water.

    yes..

  8. I think so!
