heyy, i just need some peer edits for my natural resource project so far, thx:

How is this natural resource used?

Soil is one of the most important natural resources on earth, and luckily, it's renewable. Soil is used to grow vegetation and agriculture, soil can help improve water by filtering it and air quality by reducing greenhouse gases. Soil also provides a habitat for lots of organisms such as worms, insects, and bacteria, enriching the ecosystem and providing food for other animals. Did you know that soil helps to keep the whole earth livable for us? Each year, enough precipitation falls to cover the whole earth in one meter of water. So without the soil to soak up the water and pass it on to the plants, streams, lakes and other sources, our planet would be flooded and unlivable. In addition to that, soil also decomposes dead organic matter and waste and then turns it into nutrients that plants need for growth.

Why is this natural resource important to Canada?

Soil is very important to the Canadian economy due to its value. Having rich healthy soil will give the Canadian economy benefits such as increased productivity, more efficient use of nutrients and pesticides, improvement on water and air quality and reduction on greenhouse gases that are causing global warming. In the Canadian Prairies, soil erosion has decreased the production profit by $6 million/year, and nitrogen losses (when organic matter is lost from the soils) costs farmers $70 million/year. This is why we need to make sure that our soil is healthy and that we need to be careful of soil erosion that will damage and lose a lot of soil, even though this resource is renewable; it does take I THINK IT SHOULD BE "IT TAKES YEARS..." NOT "IT DOES TAKE YEARS..."years and years to recover a large amount and therefore, we need to take good care of our soil now to ensure that we’ll have it for centuries to come.

How should this natural resource be used in the future?

In the future, soil should be still be highly valued because no matter when, it’s the soil that’s keeping our earth dry by soaking up precipitation, increasing water and air quality, giving us a place to farm and produce food, and overall, soil is one of the basic needs for our habitation on earth.
