Question

He y'all, my hubby leaves in 3wks and I wanted to ask when do me and my daugther get our dependent ID cards? Do we wait til we go to his bct graduation? And when does the insurance start? And when does my hubby get his dog tags and is he able to get extra ones for my daughter to have while he is gone? Thanks for the info.

I don&#039;t know about the dependent id&#039;s or the insurance sorry. but he gets his dog tags when he&#039;s inprocessed and you only get one set.

EDIT* Why did I only get one set? And a set is two....so I got one set....

You have to wait for him to Improcess first that take about a week. Once he enrolls you into DEERS then you can get your I.D. card at your nearest military instillation. Same with health insurance. You can actually go to Rangerjoes.com and Uscavalry.com and order your own set of ID tags. But when he graduates from basic you will have a short time to be with him. Maybe then he can give you an extra set but i dont advise it because both sets are on his packing list for AIT.Good luck.

more than likely you will get your id cards after basic training, he will fill out paperwork while he is in basic for the health insurance, but i am not sure how long it will take. And the dog tags, they wont issue him a seperate set that he can send home, thats something he will have to do whenever he is done with basic.....
