The club from the Principality has secured the services of the young Argentine from River Plate in a deal believed to be in the region of 17 million euros
Back in January 2012, in the final hours of the winter transfer window, AS Monaco signed Moroccan international, Nabil Dirar from Belgian Jupiler side, Club Brugge. Monaco paid 7.5 million euros to the Belgian giants for the former Waterloo player which
at that time, was a Ligue 2 record.
Eight months later, the Principality club has sent that record into oblivion. If rumours in L’Equipe are to be believed, Monaco are set to secure the services of Argentine midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/River-Plate-c40368. Reports claim that the Monegasque club
has paid the Argentine giants 17 million euros for the services of the 18-year-old which is the new Ligue 2 record.
With the riches at the disposal of Dmitry Rybolovlev, AS Monaco are set to manage a transfer window that is only accustomed with clubs such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
However, in order to attain the service of Ocampos, Monaco had to satisfy all parties in a very complex manner. The 18-year-old’s 50% rights belong to River Plate, 15% to his previous club Quilmes and 35% to a group of agents.
However, unless there’s some major turnaround, AS Monaco have already convinced River Plate president, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Passarella to let go of the club’s prized asset.
With this transfer, AS Monaco more than ever, prepare for promotion to Ligue 1. Without Ocampos, Monaco were already big favourites to win promotion back to France’s top tier. With the youngster at the Stade Louis II, it will be exciting to see how this
expensively assembled squad plays in Ligue 2.
Reports claim that Ocampos is expected to be at the ‘Rock’ on Sunday where he will undergo a medical before penning down a long-term contract with the club.
After making his debut for River Plate in 2011 in a game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chacarita-Juniors-c38779, Ocampos has gone on to play 39 games for the Belgrano-based club and according to his coach Matias Almeyda, has the talent to become the next big thing in football.
