Following the sacking of Marco Simone, AS Monaco are in search of a new coach and the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan coach is their first priority
The 2011/2012 campaign of AS Monaco was less than satisfactory. Les Rouge et Blanc failed to win promotion to the top tier of French football and that has lead to the sacking of the coach, Marco Simone, who was only appointed as the head coach of the side
in September 2011.
The former AC Milan player was appointed by the new owner of the club, Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, in order to turn the fortunes of club. Simone managed to guide AS Monaco to 10th place in the Ligue 2. However, that was not enough for
the ambitious billionaire owner.
Dmitry Rybolovlev wishes to see his club back in Ligue 1 and for that he is willing to spend madly. The Russian billionaire wants to see his club regain its lost status in shortest possible time and for that he knows that a renowned coach is required, who
can guide Les Rouge et Blanc back to the top flight of French football.
AS Monaco have few names on their wish list and former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 manager, Claudio Ranieri is on top of that list. The Italian is currently a free agent following his resignation from the managerial position at Inter Milan.
According to Sky Italia, Monaco are already in contact with the Italian and talks are in a very advance stage. Many other clubs are also in the race to attain the services of the former Juventus manager.
The witty tactician has been approached by many clubs. Fiorentina, Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion have held talks with the Italian. A Turkish club (Besiktas) is also in the race to attain the services of the former strongman of Chelsea.
However, reports suggest that Claudio Ranieri favours a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 with AS Monaco his likely destination.
The lofty ambitions of the owner have convinced the Italian that AS Monaco is the best club for him to go to. Funds will be available at Les Rouge et Blanc and it is widely expected that a high profile appointment like this, would guide the club back in
Ligue 1 with immediate effect.
