  1. I feel much less safe than 8 years ago.

  2. no, not a bit.

  3. 8 years ago I didn't even know what terrorism was, so NO, I definitely do not feel safer.

    I agree with "nsanenthenbrain"...lol.

  4. No, I do not feel safer.

    I remember a saying:

"He who gives up freedom for safety deserves neither."

    ______

The "Patriot Act" is an oxymoron.  It has nothing to do with traditional patriotism and even less to do with guaranteeing freedom.

Personal freedom is a responsibility.  One that sadly is not accepted by most people, because it requires a little bit of work.

I believe that more has been done to erode freedom in the term of this president than any other office holder, domestic and foriegn alike.

  5. No I feel more vulnerable as an American then ever before. Seeing that the government can search my home, with my being present without a warrant. Detain me indefinitely, without charges being presented to me, without contact with a lawyer and without a trial. All if I am a supposed "terrorist". Do to The Homeland Security Act and The Patriot Act.

  6. No, I feel like the world's about to end.

  7. NO, I want him another 8 until there is some stability in the middle east. I'm TERRIFIED of what is to come depending on the outcome of the November election and PRAY my life turns into the movie "groundhog's day" so I never have to wake up the day after the election if Barack "wins".

However, I feel safe with GW in the Whitehouse.

  8. Yes.. I fee safer.

  9. no.

Invading and occupying Iraq has made the U.S. less safe for decades to come.

  10. I feel no more or less safe from terrorism than I did 8 years ago, but I know that in the event of a terrorist attack or natural disaster, the local National Guard unit is less prepared to help because if they're not deployed overseas, most of their equipment is.

I DO feel much less safe from my own government.

They can monitor my phone calls and emails without a warrant.  They can gather my library activity and spy on the social groups I belong to.  They can search my house without a warrant and collect evidence, and not even tell me.  They can designate me an "enemy conbatant" without my knowledge, then arrest me, hold me without legal representation and without charge, torture me or send me to another country that tortures, put me on "trial" with the evidence they gathered without warrant and not let me see that evidence, and convict me in secrecy.

  11. No... I don't.  I feel the same about my safety from a world threat... but I do feel more at danger form a domestic threat and from crimes to my property.  I have actually had gasoline stolen from a car of mine 2 months ago... never would have thought that that would happen.  I also feel more insecure about my business and my wife's job security and her benefits... and even her promised benefits from when she will retire.  I don't feel there is a guarantee on anything anymore... even if a contract has been made.

  12. i don't feel any more safe or less safe than 8 years ago. I don't think any president will change how safe I feel. Of course I moved to a town with a higher crime rate so I suppose I should feel less safe.

  13. I don't feel safer, but half of it is independent of Bush.

I'll feel safer when I get my .45

  14. Yes I feel safer all at home and all over the world as I travel internationally!

  15. no.

    much less safe.

    honestly.

  16. I have a beretta 92fs on me at all times so I will BE not just feel safe

unless someone, tries to take my guns away

  17. Yes I feel safer.

  18. NO.

  19. That's a dumb question.  9-11 happened after that. . . . NO ONE feels as safe as then, no matter who is president!  (Guess you forgot about 9-11?)

  20. no because uncertainty is going to walk through that door and take over. When they do take over there is going to be one heck of a mess to clean up! Who ever it is I hope they are up to pulling our economy out of the garbage can, lowering the unemployment rate, and stopping the war efforts that are flushing this countries money down the tube!

I also would like for them to stop sending so much aid to other countries and letting illegal aliens stay in the country because they have children that are citizens. Not everyone will approve with my opinion but I think unless you got here honest you don't belong here. Again just my opinion

  21. Yes no doubt about It has been 8 LONGGGGG YEARS I remember when they stole the election from Gore in November 2000 I was only 7 years old at the time I had always dreamed how great would America be if Gore had won the election man we would be driving oil free cars and our homes would been solar powered :(

  22. You're kidding right?

I'm even worried about flying internationally, lest my own government take me off the plane and send me to Syria for four years to be beaten within an inch of my life for no reason.

  23. 8 years ago before the trade center attacks I didn't know we were in the kind of danger we were in...most everybody didn't realize it.   I imagine that it's much the same way now.   I feel safer than I did on Sept. 12th 2001 if that answers your question at all.
