If reports emerging in Italian media are to be believed, Barcelona’s reserve team tactician, Luis Enrique, has accepted the offer placed by AS Roma to join the outfit as the head coach. Earlier reports had indicated that Enrique is more than happy with his
current position at Barca, and will continue to coach the Barca B squad.
However, latest reports have revealed that Enrique has joined the Italian outfit as the new head coach on a two-year contract. The former Spanish striker would earn 1.5 million Euros per season and after the expiry of his contract, he has the option of a
third year in Rome.
Enrique has been the tactician at Barca B team since 2008. In the wake of his recent comments, one can assume that he knew his future lies elsewhere. While talking to the club’s official website, the former attacker said:

I have to say they have been three fantastic years. I decided the cycle had come to an end. I said that before the offers
started coming, before there were any speculations. I’m satisfied and proud because I think some of the respect for what we have done has come down to me."
Enrique would take over the post from Vincenzo Montella, the caretaker coach of the Giallorossi. 2010.
The retired Italian striker was confident that he would keep the post, but the new owner of the club, American businessman Thomas DiBenedetto, intends to revamp the squad and also bring in a new tactician in order to take the club to new heights.
