AS Roma closing in on Lucho Gonzalez of Olympique de Marseille – Ligue 1 news
According to reports in French media, Italian Serie A giants AS Roma are closing in on a deal with Argentine international Lucho Gonzalez who is currently under contract at French Ligue 1 side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127.
The 30-year-old Argentine has been linked with a move away from the Stade Velodrome for a long time. However, Les Phoceens want to recoup a good part of the 18 million Euros they paid to sign him from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 in 2009.
Lucho Gonzalez impressed in Marseille’s 5-4 victory over LOSC Lille in the Trophee des Champions clash game at Tangiers but it now appears that the influential playmaker might have played his last game for the 2009/2010 Ligue 1 champions.
The Buenos Aires midfielder is currently in talks with AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 over a possible transfer to the Roman side according to French sports daily L’Equipe. Reports suggest that an agreement would be reached in the next few hours.
