The hosts began the first half confidently and could have scored in the 3rd minute. Valon Behrami made a powerful run in the Roma box and sent a pinpoint cross for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alberto-Gilardino-c4324, who headed over the cross bar from close range.
The Viola dominated the early proceedings and created several decent opportunities at the goal. The hosts were denied a goal for an offside flag ruled against Gilardino in the 19th minute.
Couple of minutes later, Fiorentina managed to break the deadlock courtesy a brilliant individual effort from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adrian-Mutu-c3742. The Romanian striker made a beautiful turn past Philippe Mexes and then drifted past Juan Arne Riise before smashing the ball into
the bottom corner of the net to make it 1-0 for the hosts.

The second half continued at the same pace as a stunning strike from Juan Vargas rattled against the woodwork to deny the hosts.
Roma hit back immediately and scored the equaliser in the 51st minute. Totti pounced on a loose ball after a mess in the penalty area and smashed his shot into the far corner to make it 2-2.
Sanity returned to the proceedings after the equaliser from Roma, as the game dried up after being played at full throttle for an hour. Both teams created several chances but all of them went in vain, as the game finished 2-2.
