The Italian giants are reportedly monitoring the progress of the Argentine International, with Malaga CF also rumoured to be interested.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 star Nicolas Otamendi has been a mainstay in defence since moving from Velez Sarsfield in 2007. A central-defender by nature, his partnership with Rolando has been quite impressive and even harder to breach in recent years.
His performances have also earned him a berth in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841 National team, where he is now considered as a first choice starter. After guiding Porto to a quadruple last term, many sides expressed interest in acquiring the player.
However the Dragons were unwilling to part ways with their star man and further purchased the 24-year-old’s rights in a €4 million deal. Malaga CF were allegedly looking to sign him in the last few months in order to strengthen their case in La Liga.
Following their takeover by new middle-eastern owners, the Spanish outfit has been linked with a plethora of players and it seems that Otamendi is their latest target. But http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 in the race to acquire the Sky Blue International.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rolando-c31583 last summer, but a move failed to materialize and is unlikely to go through now. In need of solidarity at the back, the Serie A giants have turned their attention to the Argentine, with a view to secure his services in the upcoming transfer window.
Otamendi is also well known for his scoring rate and has netted 8 times already for the Portistas, which is an impressive tally considering he is a defender and does not play up-front.
While the deal looks like an ideal match, it remains to be seen whether Porto agree to it or not.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vitor-c36281 Pereira’s are currently struggling to impose themselves in Liga Sagres and are surely out of the title race, given that they are five points adrift of Benfica.
Nicolas Otamendi happens to be one of the most important players at the club and without his reassuring presence at the back; the Portuguese side will be unable to win the title unless they find a suitable replacement, which will no doubt be difficult and financially draining.
