The Giallorossi chief confirms failed contract negotiations with the Italian international, but salutes his attitude despite the disagreement with the club

De Rossi’s contract situation has been a subject of media interest for the past few months, and despite several negotiations, he has failed to agree terms with the Giallorossi. The Italian has repeatedly expressed his desire to
stay at Stadio Olimpico Rome, but he is not willing to sign the current offer from the club.
It was believed that the Giallorossi had set a deadline for the Italian international to sign a contract before the January transfer window, but he has failed to reach an agreement with them. The agent of De Rossi recently revealed
that they are closing in on a contract agreement and his client will sign a new deal in the next few days.
Baldini has started to lose patience, and has revealed that the midfielder can sign a pre-contract agreement with any club including Roma. However, he is still confident that the Italian international will extend his stay at Stadio
Olimpico Rome.
The Giallorossi chief rejected talks of De Rossi’s recent absence from the team due to contract issues, and insisted that the player is nursing an injury. Baldini said that the player has not let off the field issues affect his
performances on the pitch, and is committed to the club.
While talking to the reporters, Baldini said,
"De Rossi is out due to physical problems and cannot play. The contract has nothing to do with it. Now he can sign with anyone and everyone - including
Roma. I am confident and optimistic. The negotiations are going on and we are continuing the conversation with the other party. We want to continue the relationship and he wants to stay. Now we must find an agreement."
The Italian’s contract at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 is set to expire at the end of the ongoing season. He has made more than 350 appearances for the capital club so far.
