Walter Sabatini reveals that their market strategies will change if they manage to qualify for UEFA Champions League; insists club is not chasing any of the two players.
AS Roma have categorically denied all rumours linking Liverpool’s Luis Suarez, and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rodrigo-c31437 Palacio of Genoa, with a move to the Gialorossi in summer.
The Gialorossi sporting director has revealed that there has been no contact with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 for Luis Suarez, in an effort to snub the growing speculation over the player. The executive insisted that the player may have not been doing well for the current
team, but said that he is a quality talent, and the news of his transfer to the Gialorossi is nothing more than worthless rumour.
While talking to Radio Mana Mana, the Roma chief said:
“There is no negotiation going on for Suarez. Even though he’s had a few problems recently, he’s a really strong player but these are only transfer rumours.”
When asked about Palacio, the sporting director insisted that he already has adequate fire power in the Gialorossi attack, and is not looking for more strikers. The former Lazio official insisted that the team has their eyes set on other more important things.
“Palacio? We are satisfied with the attackers that we already have in the squad. We have other priorities.”
The Maggica director insisted that their shopping plans in the upcoming transfer window will depend hugely on whether they manage to qualify for UEFA Champions League. The former Palermo executive insisted that the club are alive in the race for the final
Champions League spot, and insisted it is an important objective for the team.
“Should we qualify for that competition then our market strategies would change. It would be an important objective to achieve and we are still alive in that particular race.”
