AS Roma striker Fabio Borini credits Carlo Ancelotti and Chelsea for his development

as a player.
Borini arrived at Chelsea in the summer of 2007 from Bologna and just a season later went on establish himself as the first choice striker for the reserve side. It was in September of 2009 that the Italian forward was added to the Champions League squad
by then manager Ancelotti.
After a few substitute appearances for the senior Chelsea squad, Borini retained his place for the reserve team and continued scoring goals regularly. A hernia operation sidelined him for quite a while, which put a hold to his appearances for the senior
team.
Upon his return, Borini was sent out on a loan move to Championship side Swansea City for the remainder of the season. He made nine appearances for the Championship team and scored six goals during that time, highly impressive statistics for the youngster.
After Ancelotti’s departure and replacement with Andre Villas-Boas, Borini revealed that he would not be returning the London side and proceeded to sign an agreement with Parma. He signed a long-term five year deal with the Serie A side and then joined Roma
for a loan move, with the option of making it permanent.
Borini said his current success was due to what he had learnt at Chelsea, especially the encouragement he had received from Ancelotti. He said the manager had contacted him after his move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 and had congratulated him.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 under-21 international said while speaking to reporters:
“(Carlo) Ancelotti was happy to see me move to Roma and I am very pleased to hear that from him.
He taught me so much; he took me into the first team at Chelsea. He helped me to grow up and gave me advice.”
The player revealed that while he had enjoyed his time in the English Premier League, he felt England was very different from Italy. Borini admitted he initially had trouble settling in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, especially since he was really young when he had transferred
to Chelsea.
He revealed:
“In England, there is a different mentality, which helped me to grow quick. I want to keep this mentality.
It was not easy to settle in England because I was very young and immature.”
However, Borini felt the likes of Ancelotti and teammate http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 had made his time easier at the English Premier League side. The Italian forward claimed the 33-year-old Ivory Coast international was extremely helpful in teaching him.
Borini continued:
“Drogba has taught me a lot; I learned about free-kicks from him, I stayed with him to learn all his tricks.
When he sees a young man who wants to learn, he is available to teach.”
