AS Roma’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 at the end of season: Reports
AS Roma’s leading forward Mirko Vucinic is reported to be considering a move away to England as the English Premier League sides http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and Tottenham Hotspur seem to be strong contenders for the 27-year-old striker.
Vucinic agent though has stressed upon the striker’s eagerness to stay in Italy as he is more than comfortable at Roma and especially when playing with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ezequiel-Lavezzi-c13073.
The striker’s contract with the club expires in 2013 but the cash-strapped club might be forced, more than tempted to sell the striker for a handsome amount.
“I think http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 are a team going places and they know they can reach important objectives. Edinson Cavani, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Vucinic would form a devastating trio.” the striker’s agent told.
Vucinic switch now really depends upon what the club can achieve at the end of current 2010-11 season. A Europa League spot might be enough to keep the striker at Roma otherwise he looks set to land in England.
“They would be the best European trio. At the moment, no one knows what will happen with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 though in terms of players being sold,” Vucinic’s agent added.
The Serie A club is currently in the middle of a takeover and would welcome the owner of Boston Red Sox, Thomas R. Di Benedetto in buying the club. The officials would hope that the new ownership could bring them enough money to buy some quality players
that would help them to present a bigger challenge to other teams for the Serie A title in the next season.
Currently the club has gone through some changes with manager Vincenzo Montella taking over as a caretaker manager after Claudio Ranieri resigned from his duties following his team’s poor run of form.
AS Roma are currently placed sixth in the League table with 43 points and fighting for a place in the next season’s UEFA Europa League with Juventus and Palermo not so far behind.
