AS Saint-Etienne and Bordeaux to duel for the signature of Mevlut Erdinç of Paris Saint-Germain
Reports in French media suggest that Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain striker Mevlut Erdinç is becoming a centre of attention of FC Girondins de Bordeaux and AS Saint-Etienne as the two Ligue 1 sides embroil in a battle to win the signature of the Turkish
international.
Erdinç has been linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes since the opening of this summer’s transfer window despite the 24-year-old’s claims of his willingness to stay at the club. PSG are also keen on offloading the former Sochaux man who has
not been at his prolific best lately.
With the arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Gameiro-c20721 from Lorient this summer, Erdinç will definitely find it hard to cement a regular spot in the starting XI and with competition bound to get tough this season, the young striker might be better off leaving the Parisian side.
Sud-Ouest reports that AS Saint-Etienne boss http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Francis-c13946 Gillot is keen on signing the youngster as he looks to find a replacement of Riviere who left the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard for Toulouse a few weeks back. Bordeaux are also keen to add the striker to their
squad and are willing to splash the cash for the Turk.
However, Bordeaux might find it hard to sign the youngster as president Jean-Louis Triaud is not willing to spend more than six million Euros on any player.
“A player for six million or more is not possible for us. We know that we are missing someone upfront but if nothing has been done about it now, we won’t be able to make a signing,” said the Bordeaux supremo.
Saint-Etienne on the other hand have the resources to finance a deal for the Turkish striker following the sales of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Blaise-Matuidi-c7681 to Lille and PSG respectively. Erdinç is still under the radar of Newcastle United whom he rejected earlier
this summer.
With PSG looking to add one more quality striker before the transfer window closes, it seems that Erdinç would definitely do well to listen to what his suitors have to offer him in order to get his form back on track at a different club where he won’t be
under intense media scrutiny week in week out.
