AS Saint-Etienne looking to bring PSG striker Guillaume Hoarau on loan – Ligue 1 news
Reports in French media suggest that Ligue 1 side AS Saint-Etienne are looking to bring http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international Guillaume Hoarau on loan at the Rhone club from fellow Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain.
The 27-year-old striker’s future at the Parisian club might be jeopardised by the arrival of Javier Pastore from Palermo. The Frenchman was a revelation in his first season at Parc des Princes (2008/2009) during which he scored 20 goals in all matches for
Les Parisiens.
However, the striker was not able to replicate his great form for the club last season and scored just 12 goals in all competitions as PSG finished fourth in the Ligue 1 standings.
On the first day of the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 campaign, Hoarau started the game in PSG’s 1-0 defeat at home to Lorient and after an indifferent start to the game, coach Antoine Kombouare substituted the striker in the 54th minute.
Furthermore, the recent arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Gameiro-c20721 which would mean that Hoarau would surely be relegated to the bench.
According to Le Parisien, AS Saint-Etienne are willing to bring in the striker on loan at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard provided if Les Parisiens are willing to pay half of the player’s wages.
With the 2012 European Championships on the horizon, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Guillaume-Hoarau-c15332 would also be keen on making a switch away from the capital club in order to play at a side where he can get enough playing time in order to stay under the radar of France national team
manager Laurent Blanc who has handed the striker five games for Les Bleus since 2010.
Since arriving at PSG from Le Havre in the summer of 2008 for 500,000 Euros, Guillaume Hoarau has scored 32 goals in 88 appearances for Les Rouge et Bleu. A move away from the Parc des Princes now seems inevitable for the Reunion-born striker whose career
has promised a lot but is still lacking the kind of consistency that is required at big football clubs.
