  1. Of course you can ask for a remark: but remember your score could easily be taken down. The re-marker will check that the original marker followed the mark scheme correctly, that's all. They will *not* try to look for extra marks to push your score up.

People often do not realise that scores can go down. More usually scores will remain the same. It would be very unusual for a remark to raise a result by 5 marks on a scientific or maths subject as the mark schemes are not as subjective as for humanities essay-based subjects such as History or English.

Personally, I think it is better to put the energy into studying for your A2 units next year and save the remark fee.

  2. yes! how did you do that i need all the advice i can x

  3. If you ARE NOT continuing Biology to full A-Level, then yes. You've gotnothing to lose.

If you ARE continuing to full A_Level, then no. You can improve the grade by compensating with your A2 module marks, and save the re-marking fee.

    Good luck.

EDIT: I've just found out I'm four marks below a B in A2 Geography, and I needed a B to get into university, but they let  me in anyway as I was so close. So if you apply to university they do take this into considerstion, so I don't think it's worth getting a re-mark.

  4. Not really. The whole thing is proportional, they'll only look at your full A level in the end. As long as you can make the adequate marks for an A (+5) next year you'll be fine. It's also unethical. That is probably the mark you deserved, examiners obviously felt you were not an A, but marginally - an examiner performing a re-mark will be under pressure to up you even if it isn't justified.
