What is considered to be a good score on the ASVAB....?

  1. it all depends on what you want to do i suppose.  Although it would be awesome to get in the 80's or 90's, anything over 50 would probably be considered "ok"

  3. If you're a Marine type... 30-50 is great!!!

    If you're a Navy type... 70-80 is just passing.

  4. It depends what you are going for. Some fields don't require a high ASVAB, and I can only speak based on my knowledge of the Navy and the scores that are required for Naval rates.

    If you get an ASVAB score higher than 80, you should qualify for almost every single job there is in the Navy. The only one's that require a score in the 90's are Nuke's, engineers and personnel that work around the nuclear reactors on ships and submarines.

    My best estimate is that the ASVAB expectations for the other branches are similar, or even lower. Understand that the Navy and Air Force are the most technical, and the Army and Marines are more physical. If you get better than an 80 on your ASVAB, your probably eligible for any MOS or rate your going for.


  5. Thats realy for you to decide. As long as you pass then thats the good thing. Your gt scores and the other composites are what you need to wory about. You can score a 45 and do great on your gt score and get any job you want and you can get a 85 on it and bad on your gt and your jobs will be limited. So dont realy look towards your asvab scores and more towards your gt and other things like that

  6. ASVAB stands for Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery and if you didn't know what it stood for right away you probably wont be able to answer this question.

    Anyways to answer your question its like the first guy said it depends what you wanna do what i suggest is if you haven't already taken it do some practice exams, the better you score the more opportunities you will have.

  7. Scoring a 50 is average... an 80+ will get you just about any MOS (depending on your line scores) and a 90+ can get you almost any MOS (again, depending on your line scores).
