AT&T U-Verse has recently become available to me. Is it a better solution than Time Warner Cable?

I would bundle internet and HDTV service that Time Warner currently provides for me. I also use a DVR. What's the pros and cons of making the swath? I know AT&T is less expensive.

  1. U-verse Pros:

    Free DVR

    Flickr Pictures on your TV

    Excellent SD picture

    Free Wi-Fi wireless gateway

    Equivalent HD picture

The U-verse DVR can record up to 4 programs at once. (up to 2 of those in HD)  No more conflicts (This is the best feature IMHO)

    U-verse Cons:

U-verse 4 stream limit.  (You can only watch/record up to 4 different channels in your house.   Unless you just have a lot of kids, or are sharing the house with 6 roommates or something, this may not matter to you... )

Only one DVR per household. (Though with total-home DVR service, that AT&T says is coming "soon" you will be able to watch recorded shows from any U-verse set top box in your house.  Also note you can add TiVo Series 2 DRVs to U-verse.  Of course, if you only have one (or zero) DVRs today, none of this will be an issue for you.)

Overall I like my U-verse service better than the Time-Warner service it replaced.

    Good Luck
