Question:

AT&T internet service, How to avoid monthly home networking fee?

Hi, I want to buy the att internet service (for 19.99). But when I called them, they wanted to charge me an extra $10 fee for home networking service as they put it. They said without that service I could only connect 1 computer to the internet at a time. I think this is crazy because if you have a wireless network shouldn't you be able to connect as many wireless computers as you like? Any help or info would be appreciated. Thanks.

  1. welcome to AT&T...

no you don't *have* to have the home networking fee.  you'll just have to support your own network.  just get the service and plug the DSL modem into the WAN port of your wireless router and configure it to use your login credentials and connection settings.
