ATHLETES!!! Are there any GOOD stretches for the legs before running? (especially the knee area?)?

Is it better to stretch before a run or after? Any tips for me would be GREAT! THANKS! I am a beginner runner by the way... :-)

  1. i dont run but iam a gymnast so i do know some good stretches and they are ....... if you sit with ur feet straight out in front of you and reach for your toes that will streath the backs off your legs and if you stand up and pull ur ankle twards your but so that ur knee is bent that will work to   (tip) if you run with a partner and your partner is getting tired let them run backwards so that u are facing each other and that will help to gain energy and breath back
