Ok, I am building my own computer, and I am to the graphics card stage. I have a crossfire capable motherboard and power supply, so now I am wondering about the performance of crossfire.

Which of the two setups would allow me better performance?

1 MSI Radeon HD 4850 w/ 512 MB of 256-Bit GDDR3 (in PCI-E 2.0 X16)

or

2 MSI Radeon HD 3850 w/ 512 MB of 256-Bit GDDR3 (Both in PCI-E 2.0 X16) (One Running at X16, One Running at X8) (Crossfire)

Any additional details would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help!

  1. I would go with the HD 4850 because the 2X 3850's would only out do it some of the time. So later in the future you could possibly buy another 4850 and not have to upgrade at too much cost, and right now that card should run just about anything.

So 4850 right now and another one in crossfire when it starts to show its age.

  2. Go for the 4850, or better the 4870. I recently got the 4870 and I am really happy with it.

  3. go with 280GTX ,,,,   nVidia

or 9800GTX 1GB if ur limited in money

    ATI sucks
