I was wondering if this kind of card would be able to play latest games like Call Of Duty 4 and so on..

What could it play and what wouldn't it play ?

Do you suggest I switch to something better which wouldn't affect the price much?

  1. Since that card is integrated into the notebook, you can't upgrade it unless you buy another laptop. If you want a better graphics card on a notebook, you would need to pay an extra 300-400 dollars for a better notebook. This card should be able to run CoD at medium settings but it might lag in games such as Crysis since it has high requirements. My suggestion is to stay with this card unless you want to pay more for a better graphics card on a notebook.

  2. It can play games.  Don't expect to play Crysis on medium settings, though.

If this is not a laptop video card you're getting, I'd upgrade to the 3850 (if you want to stay under the $200 limit).  I have a 1GB card, and it can play Bioshock on max and Crysis on medium settings.  It's really cheap because ATi recently released the 4000 series, and will most likely continue to make better cards to beat their arch nemesis NVIDIA.

My 2 cents.  If this is a laptop, and that's your best option, I'd go for it.

  3. no. its fairly crappy. it will play current games but not with great frame rates or at decent resolutions.

  4. Oh wow, GROW THE F*** UP PEOPLE. Just because you bought top of the line expensive computers doesn't mean that you should dismiss every other computers with less expensive hardware.

A graphic card is only as good as the computer especially when it comes to laptops. If it's the Mobility Radeon 3650, the highest resolution you are going to get is probably 1450x900. And as long as you don't find some way to get your resolution up to 1900x1200, most of the games will work fine.

Better graphic cards don't necessarily mean smooth FPS rate. They only provide better photo-realistic textures, pixels and colors. (The VRAM stores the color and resolution information and does not determine the processing speed). Also, texture details and anti-aliasing don't take up too much memory. Only thing that will prevent you from running games in a playable speed is the high resolution. But you don't really want to set the resolution to the max even if your computer is capable of doing so. Most of the games' user interfaces (such as minimaps and toolbars etc.) don't enlarge as the resolution goes up. It will only hurt your eyes.

The thing that really matters to have playable FPS rates is the RAM and the CPU.

I have a laptop equipped with Radeon 3650, T9600 CPU and 4 gigabytes of RAM operated by a 64 bit OS. It runs Call of Duty 4 in the highest settings(full resolution), Crysis (medium high resolution) at medium settings, and  Assassin's Creed (full resolution)at maximum. All in very playable FPS rates.

Most of the people here don't really know what they are talking about. All they care is showing off the flashy hardwares that they have and no matter about what kind of hardware you ask them they'll just tell you it's **** because it's not as good as theirs. Not to mention that they actually don't have that hardware which proves EVEN MORE that they have no idea what they are saying

  5. First of all, you don't play heavy games on laptops, its not the best experience. Yes it'll play COD4. Don't expect to be playing Crysis.

Yes on Rainbow Six vegas 2. Like I said, laptops=not gaming. No point in shelling out a c**p load of money for a laptop gaming computer.

  6. Some people don't know what they're talking about.  My 256MB GeForce 8600M GT will play crysis on a mix of medium/high/very high settings.  Crysis isn't that demanding unless you put everything up on the highest settings.  My 512MB 8800GT will play it on all high (XP) with no lag.  Learn more about the games video settings before assuming.

Second, a 512MB video card is the highest video card you can get in a laptop.  Some offer two 512MB video cards, but 512MB is currently the limit per card.

Yes, you can play all games released up to today on the highest settings with a 512MB video card except Crysis, which you'll be able to play on HIGH (not very high) settings.

bear in mind some newer games may require anti aliasing turned down or off, and i don't include that in highest settings.

laptops = CAN BE awesome gaming rigs.  Don't. Dis. the. gaming. laptops.

    Blasphemers.

  7. That is one of the best graphic cards, any game you are trying to play would work with that one. I recommend you keep that one!!!!
