I had recently filed a police report on an old friend who stole my debit card and took over 800 out. I told the bank who it was in the photos that they showed me and gave them the information about her. It has been since the beginning of May since I had filed a police report, but I still havent heard from them in a while. They said that it takes a while and that thye havent heard from the police station. I was just wondering how soon or long does it take for the suspect to be prosecuted? i already had filed a police report and gave then her info.. so why is it taking them so long to get her?? I really want her to go to jail!

  1. when u find a card missing, its important 2 1'st go tell yer bank so they can stop the card & freeze the acct or give u a new card. the person who has the card MUST know the pin or the ATM may hold the card after so many reties. the ATM @ my bank has done this but after something w/ the sys happened & the password hadda B reset & it workt.

  2. 1.  An ATM card is worthless if they don't know your PIN number.  So my question to you (b/c the bank will ask you), did you share this with him or make it easy for him to guess?  If that is the case...there is your problem.

She most likely won't go to jail, for the reasons that I described above.

  3. Its really hard to prosecute those card thefts and even proving if the crime was committed. For Cards, w/c  you are provided with pins & passwords, its your responsibility to kept it and not disclosed it to anyone else. If you've given them the passwords, then they're making unauthorized withdrawals , its usually no one to blame but you.

Sorry, but even if how much we want them to go to jail or drop dead its hard to get justice in a crime like these. It teaches us a lesson not to trust anyone w/ our bank accounts or cash cards.
