The seventh seed pair of d**k Norman and Wesley Moodie triumphed in their second round robin clash of the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals on Wednesday after getting the better of Oliver Marach and Lukasz Kubot in two sets to keep their hopes alive in London.
The final match score was 6-1, 6-3.
Both the players fought confidently right from the start of the match with a lot of determination and grit to secure a comfortable win over the fifth seed duo in the season finale in London.
After falling down in their first clash on a tame note, d**k Norman and Wesley Moodie showed fine temperament to remain in the trophy contention.
Seeded number seven to win the crown at the prestigious event in London, Norman and Moodie are playing in the season finale for the very first time in their career.
Their notable performances this year include appearances at Wimbledon, semi-final run in ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Monte Carlo, French Open, Gstaad, ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Cincinnati, Metz, Stockholm and quarter-final showing in US Open in New York.
The Belgian-South African pair secured win in their second round robin clash on Wednesday in one hour and eighteen minutes. Together they blasted a total of four aces and won fifty eight points in contrast to thirty eight of the fifth seed pair and as a
result surged forth without any trouble.
They earned the breaks during the second and sixth game of the opening set and wrapped it up in just twenty nine minutes of play. Both the sides had their chances in the match on the centre court however it was Moodie and Norman who played some great tennis
near the net to move a step ahead in the Barclays ATP World Tour title race.
They continued their impressive form in the decisive set as well and maintained their dominance till the end.
