ATP top twenty players to contest at Shanghai Rolex Masters
The top ranked tennis player Rafael Nadal from Spain along with every single player in the ATP top twenty list will contest at the Shanghai Rolex Masters this year at the Qi Zhong Stadium that will play host to what is considered
to be the biggest tennis tournament ever competed on the continent.
The director of the championship, Michael Luevano said, “We are the only ATP Masters 1000 outside North America and Europe so it is only fitting that we have the draw that we are expecting.”
It is the only single competition in the region that will highlight both the Grand Slam champions as well as runner ups this season which includes Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Robin Soderling, Tomas Berdych as well
as Novak Djokovic.
Michael Luevano, the director was of the view that they all are really excited for the upcoming event and looking forward to it.
“Everyone is buzzing with excitement and sports lovers in Shanghai will be static with the environment and fun that is going to unfold at Shanghai from this Sunday. The stadium will be a hive of activity with the center court and
the new show courts that were used for the first time back in 2009, promising to provide a schedule that will be extraordinary,” he added.
The main draw cut off for the Shanghai event is forty four. The last contender to be given direct entry is Janko Tipsarevic from Serbia.
The Director of the tournament while commenting on the overall atmosphere and crowd’s response said that they all are waiting to see their tennis stars at the Shanghai Rolex Masters and it is definitely going to be a great experience
for the public apart from the players themselves.
While commenting on the interest of the public, Leon Sun was of the view that some of the tickets are still available however in the past two weeks, ticket sales have gone through the roof and that reflects how much the public
here are looking forward to the event.
The last year’s winner Nikolay Davydenko will be attempting to defend his crown that he captured after getting the better of Rafael Nadal, while the world number one Spaniard would definitely be looking to grab his first trophy
in the leading city for Asian tennis and the only area where the twenty four year old Rafael has not captured a major crown.
The Swiss tennis maestro, Roger Federer will be chasing the form that saw him capture the Tennis Masters Cup in Shanghai and the same goes for the Serbian, Djokovic, while the likes of Andy Murray and Andy Roddick of America will
be doing all they possibly can to steal the title in their particular ways.
