  1. cinnamon...it gets under their exoskeleton and is an irritant that they don't like and they leave...sprinkle it all over everywhere, it is safe and smells good...used it in nursing home and under restaurant tables...

  2. Call the landlord. These  sound like carpenter ants and they can to alot of structural damage to the building,as they eat and make huge nests in the wood. I had the siding removed from my house and there were thousands of them living under there. You might need an exterminator.

  3. Put ant dust or a ant/roach spray around the outside perimiter of the house and around doors and windows.  What you appear to have are (possibly) wood ants.  Ants hate nutmeg.  Try putting ground nutmeg in a container such as a clean and dry mustard squirt container (empty, of coarse) and "poufing" it into cracks and crevices and  where pipes come through the outside wall.  If that does not work, contact me again.

  4. it is a job for infestation pro's. it is the responsibility of your landlord as under tenancy law the landlord is required to provide and safe and clean environment when renting to tennants. It sounds like he has breached the agreement, but im sure if you ask him he will pay to have it done. if not take him to court (no landlord wants to end up in court )

  5. If the ants were not there in the beginning and they are coming in from the outside, you have a duty to provide basic pest control. The landlord is not responsible for every possible pest.

Go to Home Depot or Lowes and get the liquid bait stations. You'll need to leave them untouched for a couple of days. The ants will take the bait back to the nest and kill the colony.

You can use regular cleanser to "corral" the critters to the bait stations until they are gone.

    It works!

  6. the ant problem is the landlords responsibility
