  1. Try the following, I'm sure they can work with you

  2. Well, it sounds like you have a lot of family. And regardless of what help they have offered in the past, surely they will be supportive of your choice to try and work it out. Throw an unpacking party. Get a couple of cases of beer, lots of chips and dip, and some burgers for grilling. Invite everyone over to help you guys get things in order and offer to supply the food and beer. You'll be surprised how many people show up.

  3. The best thing to do is make 4 piles for the things you take out of the boxes.  Things you want to keep.  Things to throw away. Things to donate. Things you might be able to sell on Craigslist. If you don't need it, don't keep it.

Shop online or go to Ikea as they have some inexpensive things that are multifunctional and provide valuable storage for small spaces.

  4. this is the perfect time to throw stuff out that has accumulated for no good reason! place boxes in the rooms that they go in and unpack and place things where they belong at the same time. Spot clean each room before hand and take a break between each room.

  5. Hire "molly maids" for a few hours! Its worth it for your sanity!

  6. A can of gasoline and a match, collect your insurance money and buy a new house.

  7. Make a list of things to do. Split the list heavier to your husband. Set a time limit and tell him when you hand it to him that if he finishes it in x amount of time, he's going to get his world rocked. He will look like the roadrunner buzzing through your house getting his list done and thinking of his prize!

  8. Check out FlyLady.net get a timer and set it for 15 minutes and when that goes off reset it and move to another area of the house after 45 min take a 15 minute break. If you go on flylady check out the crisis cleaning and that should get you on the right track. Also if you don't love something or need it donate it and get it out of the house. Best of luck.
