I don't have either, but I know this, Tourmaline irons are awsome for the hair, they actually condition you straighten, which will result in smoother hair. But it all depends on your hair texture, if you have really tight curls that steam straightener seems to be best, but if you have wavy hair or straight hair, and just want smoothness get the Tourmaline Ceramic, I have a Ceramic Tourmaline flat iron that I got from Wal Mart, it totally rocks, the paint hasn't come off, and it didn't put any dents in my budget.
